Global pandemic be damned! Kids have been forced back into schools, but the government hasn’t taken the appropriate measures to ensure those children with extra needs are catered for.
Over the summer, Harry’s nursery said they were unable to welcome him back as they could no longer offer the 1-2-1 support that he needs – despite the nursery specifically getting funding for such time. The Government chose that all available staff should be used to thin out the classes and if some pupils got left behind, so be it.
Anyway, we moved Harry on to a pre-school where he can be supplied with the help and support he needs. It was a worry as he’s spent so much time at home lately but during that time picked up the ability to walk and be toilet trained. Would going to a new environment send him back a step? Well…we’ll see. Harry enjoyed his first day, even if he didn’t use the toilet at all, all day!
Harry had a good day at Preschool, he sat and had a snack of toast in the morning and apple, banana and pear although appeared not to want to eat is pear!
Harry also enjoyed exploring the sensory toys and toys from our treasure basket 🙂
He is scheduled to return twice a week and as a result, Daddy has changed his working hours and now only works four days a week so the fifth he can spend with his boy.
